Facebook privacy settings to protect YOU ARE Teen online predators
First let me say that Facebook is a great site and excellent way to connect with friends and keep up with everything we're old pals from high school, without going to a meeting. However, many Facebook adolescents is more important than ever to educate parents and teens about online predators using Facebook as a tool to attract young are in a very bad situation. I'm not even going to talk bad track recordregarding Facebook privacy in recent years here.
For most of adolescents have good intentions, but teenagers can be a little ship when it comes to online predators who use Facebook and will go great lengths to to bring them out. Facebook Privacy Settings, on the surface, it can bea very deep subject, but if configured properly you can help prevent teen be contacted or contacted an online predator.
Let's look at what an online predator could look if the configuration uses only Facebook privacy recommended. This is what an online predator or anyone else for that matter can see if you are a teenager enters this information recommended use Facebook privacy settings;

You are states of adolescents, photos and messages

You Bio teens favorite quotes and information

You family and adolescent relationships (often the information the family is friends with other and non-members of the royal family, but that's another story)
Now let's say an online predator has befriended a friend of her son, this is so now we can also see the information above;

These pictures and videos of teens who have been marked in

You're young religious views and political (if available)
-
You are young birthday
The rest of the Facebook profile recommends adding the "custom" or setting that only allows friends to view the information.
How see the configuration that is Facebook privacy

Log on Facebook at the top right corner, click "Settings Account "drop down menu and then select" Privacy Settings ".
My favorite Facebook privacy settings for your child to reduce exposure to a predator online.
I recommend only "friend" configuration privacy, but with some adaptations. Even the most restrictive "friend" privacy settings are a teenager you can still vulnerable to predators online. For example, the default privacy settings in the "friend" called "include me in" People here now, "after check in "is enabled. What this means is that if you're a teen uses the log entry Facebook friends and no friends around them that have found in about adolescents is seen to check-in, which gives a place.
I recommend doing the following with your Facebook privacy settings for adolescents;

Un-check "Let people make friends in my pictures and messages to see." Then you need to click "Apply."

After you click "Apply Settings" then click "Set Preferences".

From the web customize the configuration can be specific about who can see the information you are teenagers. I recommend changing all the "friends".

Un-check "Include in my" People here now, "after you check in."

Click "Edit" next to "Photos and videos that are marked" and ensure that this value is set to "friends"

(Optional) Check "Suggest pictures of me with my friends "and click" edit. "Set this to disabled. I put it as optional, since I just being paranoid. However, I imagine a stage at one of my teenagers Facebook account has been compromised. If an online predator is watching the account and see pictures you can see is the name of adolescents have been suggested for labeling.

Search for "Friends can see me to places," then click "edit" to ensure that this feature is disabled. This feature allows another friend to check that you are a teenager elsewhere.
I know This may feel a bit tedious, but bear with me for a while. You are probably aware of the thousands of applications that are part of the kingdom of Facebook and I'm pretty sure you're teen is using more than 20 of them. I recommend checking out the information access applications that you're child is taking. While this may sound too enthusiastic they think is necessary because while you can rely on the application itself, you can not trust everyone who makes the application and now has access to information about your adolescence?
To see what information they have access to applications Facebook profile of adolescents will have to return to the "privacy setting." Look in the lower left corner of the area called "Applications and Web Sites" and click "Edit settings." I removed my son from public search by clicking on "Edit Settings" button and then uncheck "Enable Public Search" checkbox. This function simply makes a preview profile teens engines is available search.
At the top of the page you will see an area called "Applications that use." Click "Edit" to see all the information appsaccessing adolescence. on the next screen you will see a long list of likely applications. Click "Edit" to view information actually being accessed using the application. You can change the information by clicking the "delete" button, but may affect the use of the application real. I usually make at least that all applications are "friends" selected in the "privacy of the application" area. This will keep you busy for a while.
I hope you have no heart rate is too high, but remember I'm a bit paranoid and possibly more protective of my son. I know some of my recommendations may seem too hard, but I do not believe in making anything easy for an online predator to use any information from my adolescence. While not a guarantee that your child will be contacted by a predator online via Facebook that help reduce the risk. Not However, adolescents should be educated is to be friend and who to avoid.
